History of the Hôtel des Arts

As an integral part of the Toulon heritage, the Hôtel des Arts was built at the beginning of the 20th century. This building was initially the seat of the sub-prefecture before becoming the Hotel of the Presidency of the General Council of Var. It was not until 1999 that this building housed the art center of the General Council or the Hotel des Arts.

The specificities of the Hôtel des Arts

The Hotel des Arts is a cultural center dedicated to the exhibition of contemporary art. Throughout the year, this building hosts various temporary representations of painting, photography, architecture and digital arts. A little more than 400 m2 of exhibition area of this site is divided into 9 rooms. This center is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm and admission is free. Many activities are also planned on site such as meetings with actors of the art scene, concerts or the opening of a documentary space.
